I am a 38 year old woman, married for almost 6 years. I have a 12 year old step-daughter who keep my hands full. We have been trying to have a baby for about 5 years and I have never been pregnant….”trying means”: off the pill for five years, many visits to the OB/RE office, 2 failed IUIs, discovering he has male factor problems, discovering I have a Luteal Phase Defect, charting BBT for last 19 months. I have recently started acupuncture and had a “water ultrasound” concluding that things still look okay on my end. My HSG was also clear. My husband has a job that takes him out of town quite a bit, so I am running the show. We got the latest results on the sperm situation (5th sperm analysis) and despite 4 months of “magic pills” from the endocrinologist, there has been no change. We tried IVF in October and it didn’t work. We have started stimming for IVF#2, egg retrieval predicted the week of March 2. This is harder than I ever thought it would be!
